A midwest-born American, Max has always felt a tension between nostalgia and novelty.
His inspirations have always veered toward the strange and dark, from Twin Peaks to Rocko’s Modern Life, but comedies such as 30 Rock and Kimmy Schmidt are also a passion of his.
That kind of contrast is something that informs Max’s music. His influences range from Lana Del Rey to Sonic Youth. Max stitches these vibes into a retro futuristic take on American music that is sometimes dark, sometimes bittersweet, and sometimes hopeful. His music is as varied as life itself
